Day 1
Fly to Calgary
Arrive in Calgary and transfer independently to your hotel, spending the rest of the day sightseeing in the ‘Stampede City’.
Day 2
Calgary to Banff
Leave Calgary this morning and travel west towards the Rocky Mountains. You will have a full day tour, ending in Banff, and taking in the highlights of this stunning part of Canada. The tour will continue to Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos, including a trip on the Banff Gondola. Arrive in Banff late afternoon for a two night stay.
Day 3
Banff
Today is a free day to be spent enjoying the delights of Banff National Park, where you can choose from soaking in the mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs or taking a gentle stroll along the nature trails in the mountains. Banff also has a great selection of historic museums if you want to explore the heritage of this beautiful location or perhaps go golfing at The Fairmont Banff Springs.
Day 4
Banff to Lake Louise
Spend the morning in Yoho National Park, with a half-day tour exploring the natural wonders of the area. Along the way you’ll be treated to views of Kicking Horse River, Emerald Lake and the Spiral Tunnels, with the tour ending in Lake Louise. The rest of the afternoon is to be spent at leisure, admiring the beauty of the Lake Louise area.
Day 5
Lake Louise
Spend a free day in Lake Louise, where you can make the most of the local activities such as hiking through the mountain scenery, canoeing along the waters, or simply taking in the views of one of the most photographed lakes in the world.
Day 6
Lake Louise to Jasper
Take a sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper National Parks along the Icefields Parkway today, where you’ll see such highlights as Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Falls. The Columbia Icefield* is one of the most spectacular sights in Canada and you’ll have a chance to venture out on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn about the geological features. There will be time for lunch (not included) before arriving into Jasper late in the afternoon.
* Columbia Icefields Discovery Centre opens mid to late April. For departures prior to this you will enjoy full-day sightseeing tour along the Icefields Parkway instead.
Day 7
Jasper
Today enjoy Jasper at leisure. Exokire Jasper National Park, where you can see the natural attractions, wildlife and rugged peaks of the surrounding scenery. This national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Canadian Rockies largest national park.
Day 8
Jasper to Kamloops
Take a trip to Kamloops in style today as you journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. The dramatic landscape of the Continental Divide will leave you awe-struck today, as your route takes you through winding valleys and mountain ranges. Highlights include Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls, the climb over Yellowhead Pass and the journey along the North Thompson River
Overnight: Kamloops (Breakfast and lunch included)
Day 9
Kamloops to Vancouver
Continue west today towards Vancouver, passing the Coast and Cascade Mountains and Fraser River Valley. One highlight is the rushing water of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Your Rocky Mountaineer rail journey comes to an end upon arrival in Vancouver this evening.
Day 10
Vancouver
Enjoy today at your own pace to unwind or plan your preferred activities at your convenience. Vancouver offers something for every interest, whether it's exploring the historic charm of Gastown, indulging in a dining experience in vibrant Yaletown, or taking a leisurely stroll along the Stanely Park Seawall.
Day 11
Vancouver
Your holiday ends with check-out from your Vancouver hotel before returning to the airport for your flight home.
