Great Bear Lodge
Overview
This eco-friendly, low-impact wilderness retreat that can be reached by a seaplane flight from Port Hardy, is a fully self-contained floating lodge that sits in a remote, pristine rainforest on northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The small, intimate lodge accommodates just 16 guests, and it’s considered one of the best places to view grizzly bears. The knowledgeable, biologist guides help guests enjoy close encounters with the bears and other native wildlife, and other guided activities like interpretive walks and boat excursions are available too. After a day of exploring, a wilderness-gourmet meal awaits which includes the highest quality, fresh, local and organic ingredients whenever possible; dishes can be paired with complimentary wine and beer at both lunch and dinner.
When you just want to relax with a drink, the natural wood decks are ideal for sipping a glass of wine and soaking up the spectacular, unspoiled scenery.
