Day 1 – Day 3
Vancouver
Fly into Vancouver and make your way to your downtown hotel via the SkyTrain. Upon arrival visit Stanley Park, walk the Seawall, and explore Granville Island’s shops and galleries. Take the gondola to Grouse Mountain for scenic views and wildlife, and visit Capilano Suspension Bridge. Discover Indigenous culture at the Museum of Anthropology, stroll VanDusen Botanical Garden, and enjoy shopping on Robson Street.

Day 4
Vancouver to Port Hardy
Take the SkyTrain back to Vancouver Airport (South Terminal) and depart on a scenic flight to Port Hardy. Upon arrival, make your way to your accommodation, and enjoy the rest of the day exploring the charming town of Port Hardy at your leisure.

Day 5
Port Hardy to Farewell Harbour Lodge
This morning, transfer to Alder Bay for your mid-day departure aboard a high-speed water taxi, taking you on a scenic 30-minute journey to Farewell Harbour. Upon arrival, meet the lodge staff for a welcome orientation and lunch. After settling in, join an afternoon tour to spot marine wildlife in Johnstone Strait and Blackfish Sound. In the evening, enjoy an optional coastal ecology presentation or relax around the fire table, soaking in the sunset from the cedar deck.

Day 6
Farewell Harbour Lodge
After breakfast, meet at the dock at 8am for a full-day bear viewing adventure to one of the main Grizzly viewing estuaries. Depending on the tide, you’ll explore the bears' habitat by zodiac or on foot. Farewell Harbour Lodge prefers to view wildlife at eye level in their natural environment, avoiding platforms. In the evening, enjoy a presentation about the Great Bear Rainforest, bears, or First Nations culture.

Day 7
Farewell Harbour Lodge
After breakfast, head out to the water for your choice of another bear viewing safari or a more extensive exploration of the rich waters of Johnstone Strait and the Robson Bight Ecological Reserve. Orcas usually return by mid-July, though humpbacks and other marine life can be spotted as early as May and June.

Day 8
Farewell Harbour Lodge to Port Hardy to Vancouver
Choose how to spend your morning: a short sea kayak excursion in the protected, crystalline waters near the lodge, a marine excursion, or a guided interpretive rainforest hike. Afterward, return to the lodge for the water taxi back to Alder Bay, where you'll catch ongoing connections. Take the water taxi back to Port Hardy, then take a flight from Port Hardy to Vancouver.
