Whistler holidays - Adventuresome, breath-taking and peaceful

Popular throughout the year, Whistler is stunning whenever you visit. Spring, summer and autumn you can hike and bike, spot wildlife and soak up the views, with the snowy winter being a magnet for skiers and boarders. A charming resort-town just 75 miles north of Vancouver, Whistler is one of our favourite destinations for outdoor recreation.

A picturesque destination with brilliant outdoor activities

Whilst Whistler Village is purpose-built, it is quaint and full of character, designed around an attractive pedestrian-only walkway. Sitting in a National Park, it is surrounded by spectacular mountains, lakes and rivers, and an abundance of wildlife – including bears, deer, marmots and wild rabbits. The scenery is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace, strolling the lush landscapes or hiking into the hills. But there’s also plenty for the adrenalin junkie, from mountain biking to zip-lining.

As a host of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, Whistler is well-loved by snow-sports enthusiasts, although this destination is also full of life and excitement in the summer too. The warmer months entice thousands with the opening of Whistler Mountain Bike Park, scenic hiking trails, fantastic golf courses, forest zip-lining, and the Peak 2 Peak Gondola that rises through the mountain ranges.

It’s not just adventure though, Whistler’s charm lures in families and couples. The striking Whistler Village is full of characterful chalet-style accommodation, restaurants and shops, whilst plenty of the resorts and hotels offer luxurious spas and health clubs, plus indulgent fine dining and stunning views of the wilderness. Whistler certainly has something for everyone.

When to go to Whistler

This picturesque resort is an all-year-round destination. Whistler’s 8,000 acres of alpine terrain and brilliant blankets of snow each winter make it a very popular destination for winter-sports; including skiing, snowboarding and tubing. However over half of its two million annual visitors travel here during the summer, offering pleasant weather for a multitude of outdoor activities. The summer months create the perfect condition for a round of golf on the four championship golf courses, with fantastic blue skies creating a magnificent backdrop for a ride on the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, which soars between the peaks of Whistler and Backcomb.

A Whistler holiday has much to offer anyone who loves to explore the beauty of nature in one of British Columbia’s most loved resort towns. Whistler enjoys attracting millions of people every year no matter what the season, and its many inhabitants and local staff will be pleased to welcome you.
