Revel in the natural splendour and laidback ambience

Newfoundland and Labrador’s biggest enticement has to be its stunning natural beauty, and the chilled lifestyle that goes alongside it.

Explore National Parks and ecological reserves full of towering mountains, icy glaciers and magnificent fiords, including Gros Morne National Park with its jaw-dropping horizon of desert-like Tablelands. Along the jagged coastline, you’ll find a plethora of seabirds – the region is even aptly known as the seabird capital of North America – as well as majestic whales, or you could venture inland in search of black bears, moose and caribou.

The people of Newfoundland and Labrador are incredibly friendly. Living on an island with its own time zone (half an hour ahead of the mainland), and even its own dialect, life here is wildly unique, yet still utterly homely and comforting. The people are also known for their creativity, which highlights the region’s bubbly arts and music scene.

The capital, St John’s, is a lively city full of fun music, trendy restaurants and plenty of entertainment, whilst the region’s expansive natural parks and small seaside towns lend themselves to quieter days spent sea kayaking and hiking.

Why visit Newfoundland and Labrador

•    There are plenty of amazing wildlife spotting opportunities, including whales, puffins, seabirds, bears and moose

•    The people here are incredibly friendly. Spend your evenings drinking rum with the locals, listening to fascinating tales told by quirky and characterful storytellers
•    Gros Morne National Park’s natural beauty needs to be seen to be believed. Known for its arid Tablelands, this is the perfect spot for watching the sun go down and paint the world in bright oranges and reds
