Québec City Canada embodies the palpable “joie de vivre” spirit which many Québec cities hold dear. It is a city that enjoys celebrating, even in the midst of the darkest, coldest months of winter. The Winter Carnival takes place end of January into February and features ice carving, snow sculptures, a night parade and other festivities while summer months bring the spectacular Quebec City Summer Festival, and various other music and arts festivals including the New France Festival which celebrates the French Settlers who first founded Québec back in the 1600s in a combination of art and history with entertainment for the whole family.
A holiday in Québec City isn’t complete without a few gorgeous strolls through the city’s many beautiful walking paths, nearby parks, and waters all just waiting to be seen and explored. Dufferin Terrace takes you on a beautiful cobbled path that overlooks the St. Lawrence River and Montmorency Falls Park features a spectacular waterfall (30m higher than Niagara). The Chemin du Roy, North America’s first highway, is a beautiful pathway connecting Montréal and Québec City which takes you through various pastoral landscapes alongside the St. Lawrence. Québec City is also known for its amazing French inspired cuisine.
